Cristiano Ronaldo is in contention to start Real Madrid's La Liga opener at home to promoted Cordoba despite an injury-disrupted pre-season.
The Portugal international came off the bench in Friday's Spanish Super Cup defeat by champions Atletico Madrid.
"He trained well and he's available," said Real coach Carlo Ancelotti.
"His pre-season was not very regular because he needed individual work to resolve his niggles."
The world player of the year, 29, suffered a back injury when the two sides drew 1-1 in Tuesday's first leg.Real crumbled in the league in the final stages of last season, allowing city rivals Atletico to win the title for the first time since 1996.
Ancelotti's side did claim a 10th European Cup by beating Atletico in Lisbon and have signed Colombia playmaker James Rodriguez, Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos and Costa Rica goalkeeper Keylor Navas this summer.
"Each player has different attributes," said Ancelotti. "The three new signings will add the enthusiasm brought by a new player arriving and also a lot of quality.
"We'll try to improve this year. Last season we came very close to winning the Liga and we ran out of steam at the end.
"The solution we are looking for is to be both fast and solid. This team won't have a problem scoring goals. We won't have problems in that area".
